For the time being, our new schedule for the Fall Semester is as follows:
Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:15 PM - 8:30 PM in the PED North Gym. It is the large basketball gym adjacent to PED 201, where we practiced last year. This means we have a wooden floor this year, and an evening time instead of morning.
The first day of practice will be the 29th of August. We will most likely be discussing how practice will be run this semester, and start normal practice on the 31st.
Also, the USC Involvement Fair is scheduled for Wednesday the 24th. We have already reserved a table and will be setting up sign-up sheets for new beginners. If any existing members would like to help, please let us know.
For those who wish to begin practice this semester, please send us an e-mail at kendo@usc.edu, so we can get an idea of how many people will be showing up.
Hope everyone had an awesome summer, see you soon!

Today was the last day of practice for the first semester of the USC Kendo Dojo's existence. Its been a tough but hopefully enriching experience. 6 AM practice is not easy...on behalf of the officers I'd like to thank the following people for making it through to the end with us:
Henry Wu, Michael Caloz, Bonny Chan, Jonathan Fung, Andy Lei, Chris Portway, David Kalir, Jonathan Lo, Benjamin Chang.
And a big thank you to Yuge Sensei!
Hope I didn't miss anyone!
Looking forward to end of the year outing!

Due to the difficulty in teaching beginners of various levels, we will be accepting incoming beginners during the first week of each month, instead of throughout the month. That way, beginners can be instructed in groups, and everyone can improve faster. We are currently full for the month of February, so anyone who is interested can e-mail us and show up during the first week of March. Thank you.

The USC Kendo Dojo had its first official practice this morning. Thank you to everyone who came, and to everyone else, we encourage you to come practice with us! E-mail us first at kendo@usc.edu though, so we can prepare shinais for you to use/purchase.

Our practice schedule for the spring semester will be as follows:
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:15 AM to 8:00 AM in PED 201.
The first practice will be held on 1/25/2005.
Kenshi who already have their bogu(armor) - please show up on 1/18 and 1/20.
11/16/2004
If you are interested, please do e-mail us, and not just plan to "show up." It is important and directly affects you. E-mailing us does not make you a member - you will not be required to show up or pay any dues - official registration will begin on the first or second day of practice for those who show up. Thanks!

Attention Students: The recently founded USC Kendo Dojo is looking for new members to practice Kendo. We have yet to begin practicing as space is very tight on campus - we are currently trying to work out a schedule with club sports. However, we would like to start a list of interested students before we do begin. We are focusing on new students, so do not worry about not having any experience. Please refer to the information on the navigation bar to your left, and if you are interested, please e-mail your name and age to kendo@usc.edu. Please fill in "Interested in Kendo" as the subject.
This will help us organize preliminary shinai(bamboo sword) sales and insurance waiver forms, so if you are considering showing up, please e-mail us!
Also, if you have any experience in Kendo or Kumdo, please join us and help us get started! Along with your name and age, please e-mail us your rank, home dojo and regional federation.
Also, please help us spread the word about the Kendo Dojo!
