Work Experience
Montebello High School 2000-2003:

I worked in a program called "Self-Management for the 21st Century" This program focus on helping student to achieve their goals, have a high self esteem and to self manage their actions as well as their education.

USC Rossier School of Education 2002-the present:

I first started working for Dean Gallagher, then I continue to work with Dr. Marsh, Dean's Assistance, and now, I work for the Latino Teacher project and the Fulfillment fund with Dr. Hagedorn.

Research Experience
McNair Scholar 2003  My research focus on the academic success of minority student in a high school in the area of East Los Angeles.

McNair Training  June 8, 2005- June 12
Undergraduate Research Program This research was a continuation of the longitudinal research that I started in the summer of 2003. This research will not be done until the end of the summer of 2005. 

Conferences Attended

AERA Conference 2005  This conference was held in San Diego. I was the only undergraduate presenting my research.
CABE Conference  I have attended many CABE conference since I was in High School. This is due to my strong interest in bilingual education.
AERA Conference 2006

I will be presenting at the AERA in San Francisco . The title of my research presentation is "Aspirations and College Readiness of At-Risk Urban High School Students."

Other Educational Activities

Alternative Spring Break  I participated in this program during the spring break in 2004. We went to Isla de Mujeres, Mexico. This island is located around 30 min off of the coast of Cancun, Quintana Roo. A group of around 20 students attended this program. It was very successful and we were able to change some of the perspective of the spring breakers. Our help to the community was strongly appreciated, as a result, we came out in the newspaper.
USC Madrid Center Spring 2005  This was one of the most rewarding programs that I have participated in. I was able to study abroad in Madrid and travel all around Europe for four months. This experience enhance my knowledge of different cultures, as well, it aloud me to acquire a direct contact with our ancient world.
USC Volunteer Costa Rica Spring Break 2006 Trip Type: Volunteering, Cultural Immersion 

Activities: Light Manual labor including construction and painting. Teaching English, kayaking, rainforest hikes, waterfalls, sky bridge.

Location: Londres and Quebrada Arroyo, Costa Rica
