Three ways that I am preparing myself to think deeply about the teaching and learning process are the following: the first one is by getting started with the CTSE 130 class. By taking this class, I am starting my process to get a better understanding of the teaching and learning process. Secondly, by going into classrooms and analyzing the professor and the students, is another way of preparing myself. Third, by working with a psychologist in a high school near my house is another way of preparing myself to think deeply about the teaching and learning process. All of these three experiences have given me the power and the experience to become a successful teacher. Working with high school students and knowing the problems that they go through, helps me to understand why they perform poorly in school. From this group of around 80 students, I also learned a lot of method to teach. If we as teacher pay attention to our students, understand their problems and where they come from, it will make it easier to relate the lectures to their experiences and help them to understand the material. Student now a days are becoming more and more confused and if we don’t give them confidence and teach them to be successful, they will not learn this anywhere else.

The word Ethical can be understood as a moral. Something that according to society is wrong. If we are thinking of something to be ethical and acceptable, setting up a website can be a good example. When Websites are set up, and they are guide tours children, that website will not include information that is not relevant to the children. For example; it must not include information of how to make a bomb or how to use drugs, it is not ethical. The public in general accept this to be not ethical, why should children have this information, this will corrupt their brains. This is also ethical and acceptable because no parent wants their children to go in a webpage and find how to become a terrorist. Women circumcision is another example that I can think about when talking of ethnic and acceptable, not for Americans, but for people from other places like in Africa. Consider what woman circumcision actually means: the amputation and irreversible destruction of a healthy, sensitive, normal part of someone else's body, that is rightfully hers and that she instinctively wants to keep intact, at a time in her life when she can't understand what is being done to her or why and can't speak for or protect himself. This is an unethical act for us as Americans; we are not able to understand why these young girls have to go through this traumatizing experience. But for those races or ethnic groups this is the way it suppose to be to prevent young ladies to be abused or just to prevail virginity.

Content Standards and Instructional Practices Grades Nine through Twelve. By the twelfth grade students are expected each year to read independently two million words of running text. The reading should include a wide variety of classic and contemporary literature, magazines, newspapers, and online information. Also, it is require that the students demonstrate more sophisticated strategies as they analyze, evaluate, and elaborate on what is read, critique the credibility of information, and compare works and provide evidence to support ideas. As well, Writing and oral presentations also become more sophisticated and complex in grades nine through twelve. This is enough to criticizes and give my point of view. As I have mention before, I know what is to be an ELL and having to fit into these standards—it is not easy. Having to read enormous books from which one does not understand 80% of the words is not fun. These standards are great, but not for ELL’s students. It is expected that kids that have been raised here in California by nine grade to be able to read and write very well, but what about us that where raised in other countries. The standards are very high for those that are ELL students because we don’t have the capacity to understand and find strategies as we analyze, evaluate and elaborate on what we read. Nevertheless, having to read by our own is not that scary, having to give presentations is the scary part of being an ELL student. I remember clearly when I had to explain and article from the newspaper, I was so nervous that my brain kind of block and I couldn’t get the right words out, this is embarrassing but what could I have done, that was my reality, I couldn’t explain what I have read. I strongly believe that standards are bias because they don’t take in consideration the diversity that exist here in California, and that there are a bas majority of ELL students. With this diverse population and ELL students, it is impossible for the professors to meet these standards, as well; it makes it harder for the students to keep going in education.

Mathematically appropriate uses of technology. Mathematics teachers required to used technology in all of their classes. Some of them give excuses for not using the computer in class, many don’t have the required equipment to demonstrate the used of technology in math. The North Carolina Standard Course of Study and those of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Interactivity includes lessons, activities, discussions, and tools for exploration and discovery from elementary and middle school mathematics through pre-calculus. The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse has recognized it with the "Digital Dozen" award as being among the best of Web-based resources. Project Interactivity provides four types of resources to teachers and students, all linked around various mathematical concepts: Activities, Tools, Lessons, and Discussions The activities index can be found at http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities. Both the Spinner activity and the Function Flyer are activities contained in Interactivity. For instance, some of the activities like the Fire!! Activity pictured below can be used to cover topics such as · fraction, decimal, percents · data collection and analysis · linear and non-linear graphs · variance · conjecture and interpolation · probability · critical thinking regarding mathematical models · iterative processes · Chaos With all this information, now there is no excuse for math professors to include technology in their lessons, with this wonderful programs, they can get rid of all those bad curves that are never strait in the board and that never go through the points we want them to go through. Project Interactivity is a great program, and provides many sources for math teachers, this impacted me greatly because I want to teach math at high school level and fining this type of programs is just wonderful.
