Lesson/Activities: |
Step 1:
The students will be handed the lyrics of the three songs.
Step 2: They will listen and sing along each song.
Step 3: As they listen to the songs individually, I want
to make sure that all the students learn the Lyrics, this will
help once we start to incorporate the
instruments.
Step 4: Once the students already know the three songs, I
will then asked them to tell me what did they find different in
each song. The students will be expected to know the following:
steady beat, pitches go up and down, and beat.
Step 5: As they finish telling me the differences and
similarities between these songs, then I am going to introduce
them to the step bells. If possible, each student will be handed
one step
bell, if not, then they will have to play the resonator bars.
Step 6: I will then hand the resonator bars or the step
bells to each student. Before we start playing I will point out
the scale in which each song is play. For their understanding I
will explain the fact that music is written in a kind of
alphabetic form from A-G, but that after G it repeats again. I
will point out the letter on the resonator bars or the step
bells in order to make clear when they have to play and what
bell or bar they have to play.
Step 7: Lastly, the students will be able to start
playing the instruments. |
|
Assessment: |
The student must be able to
play the three songs on their own. |

Accommodations for
Speical Learners: |
In order to make this lesson
engaging for all types of students, I will make it as simple as
possible and will provide a lot of help. I was thinking of
grouping such class into groups of four so that the students can
help each other and build a learning community. This will help
special learners to incorporate into the class. One of my
targets are the cognitive Impaired, imitating others will help
them. |
|
Follow-Up: |
The students will have the
opportunity to select any song that they like and play it in
front of their peers. For this activity, there will be assign
dates for each student to present. |
