It's a big deal in the jazz world -- the top school in the world. The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz has launched the careers of some of the best young jazz artists. But for eight years, the school sat relatively unnoticed on the campus of the University of Southern California. And before the institute got a chance to make its mark on the rest of campus, it was gone.

Once a dominant city for jazz in America, New Orleans lost it all after Hurricane Katrina. But the Thelonious Monk Institute is now trying to bring the music back, relocating to Loyola University in the heart of the downtrodden city.
