These are the stories of those who are trying...

Meet six people who are making it in L.A. They come from different neighborhoods and different backgrounds, but all strive for a common goal: a better life for themselves and their families.


The faces
Most work at low-paying jobs in an expensive city. Some dream of getting an education or gaining the skills they need to move up the ladder.
