Research Experience
September.2003 to May. 2007
Research Assistant for Professor Elaine Chew, University of Southern California
Project :Expression Systhesis Project Description:The Expression Synthesis Project (ESP) explores the use of a driving interface for expression synthesis, also known as performance rendering. ESP aims to provide a compelling metaphor for expressive performance so as to make high-level expressive decisions accessible to non-experts. As one of the developers, I contributed a car dynamics model, a mapping strategy for ensuring tempo smoothness, a human centered road design method and the design of user tests.
September.2004 to September 2005
Worked with Professor Fernando Ordonez, University of Southern California Description:We show that solving an approximation to this robust formulation of the network design problem can be done efficiently for a network with single source and sink per commodity and general uncertainty in transportation costs and demand that are independent of each other. We also propose an efficient column generation procedure to solve the linear programming relaxation. The computational results show that the approximate robust solution found provides significant savings in the worst case.
