I am a very ambitious person. By the way, I am a Taurus, very amicable. In My free time, I like reading novels. A few of my favourites include Digital Fortress, Angels & Daemons, Five Point Someone. During the weekends, I go out with friends or watch movies. My all time favourite movie is "Definately, MayBe".

SMS Based Car Parking System Software

Parking woes are galore in the present scenario with huge amount of vehicles coming on the roads every few weeks. The announcement of TATA NANO will definitely add to the space and parking area problems. It will be very convenient for a customer if he can have a parking space booked before hand, so that when he visits the Shopping complexes, Movie Multiplexes, he will not have to look around for spaces to park his vehicle.

Our Project, the SMS Based Car Parking System Software, aims at providing this facility to the customers. The customer just needs to register once with the server placed at the parking lots, and then can send an SMS through his mobile to the server requesting for a space to be booked for a particular duration. The server automatically grants the space and informs the customer about the slot allotted to him and the cost.

The basic idea of our project is to take advantage of the GSM based SMS service provided by many Mobile Networks. We have thought of a totally new concept & have designed the software in such a manner that it becomes very convenient for a customer. It is designed in Java and the Nokia SDK is used for monitoring the inbox of the mobile placed at the server side. It’s also very convenient for the owners of the parking lots

Operating System Development-NACHOS –[C, C++]

1. The Project was divided into 4 parts spread over a total of 12 weeks.

2. Implemented different subsystems of NACHOS operating system like thread synchronization, multiprogramming, virtual memory, networking and distributed OS.

3. Implementation also involved locks, condition variables for multi-threading, TLB, IPT and page table, RPC and SWAP File and System calls like Fork, Exec and Exit.
