New Zealand (August 2004)

|
New Zealand consists of two islands - North Island and South Island. I only got to visit North Island, but from what I saw, the country is amazingly beautiful.
|
I visited Auckland, Waitomo Caves, and Rotorua. Rotorua was probably the most memorable place out of the three because it's full of meaning and significance.
|
The colors of the temple symbolize three things. Red means blood that flows through your veins for courage. White means purity or peace. Black means death. These colors significantly shaped their character as the men went off to war.

Rotorua, NZ

Rotorua is home to the Maoris - who are the indigenous people of New Zealand. Even though they are now the minority group, their art, history, and culture are still deeply embedded in NZ. When I visited NZ, I went to a Maori village of 75 people and in the middle of their village was a temple, where townspeople meet for weddings, funerals, and special events.
Australia (August 2004)
Melbourne, VIC

Although New Zealand was beautiful and unique in its own way, I personally love Austrlia more. I visited Melbourne, which is the southern most part of Australia. Melbourne is a city that has great public transportation and access to some of the best tours in the world.

The scene was absolutely breathtaking.

The best tour I've ever taken in my life was THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD tour. It was so peaceful as we drove along the west coastline.
We finally ended up at the 12 Apostles, and watched the sunset.
|
Just 90 minutes east of Melbourne is home to its the littlest penguins in the world, known as Little Penguins. I was a little disappointed because I didn't get to see too many of them after waiting for over an hour for them to return to their nests from hunting all day. I got to see a few of them and they're soo cute.

Even though I love travelling, I don't have the time nor the resources to travel all year round. Here's a list of a few countries that I'd love to go to:
- India
- France
- Spain
- Italy
- England
- Switzerland
- Indonesia
- Thailand
