Jamen Underwood is a Master’s student in the GIST Program at the University of Southern California. He is employed with Valley Air Photos in Caldwell, Idaho. He is responsible for data processing and workflow management of digital mapping imagery collected with the Microsoft UltraCam X. Previously, he designed high voltage electrical transmission lines at Power Engineers (2008-2010). Jamen received a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a minor in Geotechnology from Idaho State University (2002-2007). While there he also worked at the ISU GIS Training and Research Center (2005-2007) as a GIS/RS Technician collecting vegetation and soil data, creating and maintaining geodatabases, and image classification in support of rangeland management research. Other internships afforded experience with map creation and water/wastewater engineering. Jamen would like to advance his career in the areas of topographic mapping or natural resource management, as well as building customized GIS.
