Jason Runyan is a Master's student in the GIST program at the University of Southern California. He is currently an intern with the Environmental Services Department at the City of San Diego, as well as a GIS employee with the City of Encinitas. With the City of San Diego, he collects and analyzes field data, conducts research on local environmental issues, and prepares reports for management throughout the City. At the City of Encinitas, Jason creates maps for public use and outreach, as well as creating a spatial index of historic engineering drawings for ease of research. He has also worked for a local Chamber of Commerce, helping to procure grant funding, and planning community events. Having received his Bachelor's degree in urban studies and planning, he would like to utilize his GIS knowledge and skills in the community or environmental planning fields.
