I am a PhD candidate at innovative integrated informatics lab (iLAB) at Sonny Astani Department of Civile and Environmental Engineering in Viterbi School of Engineering at University of Southern California. My research interests are in the field of built environment data sensing and development of data driven techniques using machine learning and statistical inference in order to improve the built environment efficiency during the project life cycle. More specifically, for the past few years, I have been focused on enabling the integration of human energy-affecting behavioral factors into the building energy management logic. Examples of these behaviors include building users preferences for indoor environment ambient conditions, decisions related to the operation of the appliances, behavioral patterns in operating building equipment/appliances and so forth. Accordingly, I have been focused on developing frameworks which facilitate the integration of the users preferences in the operational logic and increase the energy awareness of the users in the built environment.
