Information and Directions for coming to USC from LAX
We know that many students come to USC every semester and a majority of them are travelling in a foreign land for the first time. Due to a huge volume of people travelling to USC from India it becomes very difficult for us to arrange individual pickups. So we have provided here a directions by which the students can reach USC from Los Angeles International Airport.
Directions from LAX to USC (or a place near by):
- After clearing Customs, walk out towards exit boards marked and you will be near the Exit gates from where you can make calls from Public phones to folks where you will be heading to. You would be tired so PLEASE make them calls from the airport so that they would be at home to receive you else you might be waiting outside the gated entry of a house. (who knows till when) Most students are sometimes not at home as they may be in university or any other location. You would need QUARTERS (25 cent coins) to call which you can get from behind the phones in an exchange counter. So carry $1 notes. Also make sure you dial a 1 in front of the given number for your call to go through. Eg: if number given to You is 213-210-3234 then dial 1-213-210-3234.
- Come out of the airport with your trolleys and cross the road.
- You will see board of Super Shuttle / Prime time shuttle. These shuttles are like big vans which can carry your huge luggage and 4 - 5 people. They keep coming there from time to time. You can check www.primetimeshuttle.com and http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/lax.htm for some more information.
- A prime time shuttle usually charges around $15 for LAX - USC area. A super Shuttle charges around the same.
- You can tell the driver your address and he will drop you right in front of your place. If the driver has no idea about the exact address , you tell him 1st that you are going to USC area or Downtown area. Remember to pay him atleast $2 tip or so if he helps you with your luggage. So keep the change accordingly.
