Welcome

Hello, My name is Harshit Imudianda.

I am a student of Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, USA. USC is ranked among the top 10 Best Engineering universities in the world. I am pursuing M.S. in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Systems and Networking. My degree spans across two departments of the Viterbi School of Engineering namely the Computer Science Department and the Electrical Engineering Department. My areas of interest include Distributed, Embedded and Real Time Computer System Design, Parallel Computing and Computer Networks.

I am extremely passionate about earth and environmental sciences too. Sustainable and clean sources of energy, applying computer science to fight global warming and educating people to conserve energy are areas on which I have been working on.

I received my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from SIES-Graduate School of Technology, University of Mumbai. After completing my education at the University of Mumbai, I moved to Pune to pursue a six month research program in Embedded System Design from ICIT, VLSI Design and Research Center, Department of Electronic Science, University of Pune.

As part of my undergraduate project, I worked with Dr. Y.S. Rao at Center for Studies in Resources Engineering (CSRE), Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay. The project: "Data Processing of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar for Target Identification and Classification" was a part of the SAR Interferometry and Remote Sensing Project also used in the Chandrayaan-1 Lunar Probe launched by India in 2008. CSRE was awarded the Academic Excellence Award in 2007, by the Defense Research and Development Organization, Ministry of Defense-India for this work in remote sensing.

Current projects: 1) Writing an Operating System on Coldfire 52259 Microcontroller Board - advised by Prof Michael Crowley and Prof. Mark Redekopp. 2) Visualization for Critically Sensitive Co-ordination of Multi-agent system - advised by Prof. Rajiv Maheswaran at Information Sciences Institute.

For my work on reducing air pollution and fighting climate change, I am an appointed fellow at University of Southern California and a Grad Student Innovator.

Apart from the Academic and Research Experience, I have about 2 years of work/internship experience: Currently, I am working (interning) at Cisco Systems and have been working here since May 2009. Previous internships include: 6 months as a Systems Intern at Air India Ltd and 6 months as Automation Project Engineer at L&T. I also worked (4 months) on a project titled "Micro-C/OS-2 RTOS Kernel Debugger" at VLSI Design and Research Center, Univ of Pune.
