I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Planning and Development at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. I am completing my dissertation entitled "Three Essays on Housing and Urban Demography" under the direction of Professors Dowell Myers and Gary D. Painter. With this year devoted solely to dissertation work through the support of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, I will finish my doctoral program in May 2017. My research interests include housing demography, intergenerational mobility, social inequality, urban economics, housing economics, and household consumption. Especially I am interested in studying how advantage and disadvantage are transmitted from one generation to another through housing and neighborhood channels.
I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Seoul National University, majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I also hold a Master of Planning from the USC Price in May 2012, where I was a Dean's Fellow.
