This has to vie for time with playing music, writing books, taking photographs, karate training, and snowboarding. Nonetheless, surfing, kitesurfing, and skydiving are next on the list, and as a trained professional in pointless argument, I'll never turn down a bottle of wine and a good chinwag. Also check out the occasional firebreathing and bungee jumping displays with the Oxford Stunt Factory, who started me streetluging in the first place. |

A Very Incomplete background history: Hailing from a small town not far from Preston, Lancashire, which is where Charles Dickens set his novel Hard Times, and Blackburn, famous for its 4000 holes. Sent away aged seven not to work in t'mill, but to be a boy chorister in Durham Cathedral, somehow via university at Oxford, I eventually ended up living in London just down the road from the MI6 building on the Thames. Among the other stuff is living in the Czech Republic, teaching English badly to occasionally keen high school apprentice bakers at the food technology school in Pardubice; and in Cardiff, (that's in Wales, you ignoramuses), doing postgrad journalism, and where I proudly saw Wales beat Germany at Football, and Scotland at Rugby, at the old Arms Park. I also saw Wales lose to Western Samoa at the Millennium Stadium, but the less said about that the better. If you hadn't guessed, I'm only half English, which causes problems for me when England plays Wales at rugby. Also, some journalism for real newspapers, and many travels, to more than 40 countries, including a lot of work in African countries as little-heard-of as Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau and Sao Tome.. |
