About HKN

What is Eta Kappa Nu?
Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the National Electrical Engineering Honor Society. Emembers consist of students who demonstrate marked ability during their scholastic careers, as well as distinguished graduate students and professionals. HKN strives to constantly improve the quality of engineering -- scholastically and professionally -- by helping members and non-members become better professionals and citizens.

Who is eligible?
Students demonstrating “marked ability” – evidenced by scholarship, personal character, useful voluntary services, and distinguished accomplishments – are elected primarily from the junior and senior classes. In addition, graduate students and distinguished professionals demonstrating similar success in their careers are also eligible.

Why join HKN?
In addition to awarding outstanding accomplishment in Electrical Engineering, HKN also offers members many resources and activities. Activities range from voluntary work to recreational gatherings to help members unwind! HKN also has unique relationships with many leading companies allowing members access to the resources (such as post-graduation jobs!) that they can provide. Members are highly regarded and sought after by the best companies.
