I was born in a rural village called Laobagang, which is on the eastern coast of China and the current special product is sea laver. Laobagang, in terms of Chinese characters, means this place was an old dam.

When I was 1 year and 2 months, I was taken taken from my birthplace to Hai'an, which is a small town only 30 miles from Laobagang. I was brought up there by my grandparents. This is a place I always draw my heart and thoughts back to.

After I graduated from high school, I went to Beijing. I was lucky to enter one of the best universities in China, Tsinghua University. I really had a wonderful time there. I earned my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree there; I made a lot of friends from all over the country there; I understood what I wanted and what I was going to pursuit...

Now, I am pursuing my Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, at the University of Southern California. Los Angeles is a great place for living. Here you can enjoy the pleasant weather, play on beautiful beaches, taste various cuisines and get familiar with diversified cultures.
