SUGGESTED DONATION
Here are the details for our dinner and silent auction fundraiser. Habitat members, please help us collect items for the
silent auction! All proceeds from the event will go towards co-sponsoring a house, and all donations are tax deductible.
House of Troy: Building a Tradition
Friday, February 15 at 7 p.m.
Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Wednesday, December 19, and can be purchased through the USC ticket office.
Suggested items:
Gift cards of any kind- especially to upscale restaurants, clothing, or shoe stores
Movie, concert, or theater tickets
Theme park tickets
A week at a timeshare or vacation home
Sports memorabilia- especially signed
Art and jewelry- both student-made and professional
Anything music-related: signed or un-signed CDs, posters, instruments
Gardening or nature- related items
Outdoor adventure equipment
Furniture
Electronics
Books, especially signed by the author
Games, including board games
Construction items
Pottery or kitchenware
Wine or vineyard memorabilia
Accept any donation; we can literally find a place for anything. All items should be new unless they are vintage, have
been signed, etc. This is not a garage sale; we are only selling high-quality items!
COMMITTEE
PUBLICITY/PROMOTION

design paper ad for distribution in:
- alumni newsletters
- newspapers
- basketball game programs
- design ad to be featured on jumbo-tron at Galen
- consult w/radio hosts to get mention in daily/weekly shows
- place ads in other locations
- golf & country clubs
- fan websites
- USC website
- update ads with info on charity items available/attendees
VENUE
- become familiar with the venue: Omni Hotel (tentative)
- select menu for the evening
- consult w/hotel caterer on selections/pricing

- decorate venue accordingly and within budget
- visit venue first in advance to get a feel for the space, consult with venue owners on ideas
TICKETING
- meet with USC ticket office
- create "ticket text"
- develop ticker information script for ticket office phone room
- create floor plan/determine seating arrangements
- create list of invitees
- USC staff, general faculty, coaches, advisors, trainers, etc.
AUCTION
- assign teams 5 items each (for athletics, Habitat will be responsible for assigning member donations)
- maintain regular contact to ensure everyone is on target to get items donated by deadline
- must have 100 item minimun by Feb 1st
- consult w/Steve (SAAC advisor) to determine appropriate pricing on items
- seek items from general standpoint and research general items to auction (ex. timeshares, trips, frequent flyer miles, gift certificates, hotel stays, etc)
PROGRAM
- design/determine format of the evening
- find appropriate MC for te evening
- plan entertainment for the evening (including Habitat video and/or partner family speech)
- select entertainment for the evening (NOT the song girls)
- select music for the event (jazzy background stuff)
