Antonio Gomez is currently enrolled as a Master’s Student in the GIST program at the University of Southern California. In 2010, he graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a degree in Geography, where he studied remote sensing, cartography and GIS. His current interests are in agriculture, Precision Agriculture, specifically. He worked as an intern for Britz-Simplot from 2008-2010, where he collected and processed LandSat and aerial imagery to create variable rate application maps for farming operations throughout the Central Valley in California. Other duties included collecting field data, soil sampling, uploading processed data into FTP server, hardware and software demonstrations and support. His goal is to pursue a career in agriculture or related field, and teach geography in the future. He is currently employed at West Hills Community College District.
