Taking a break from filling orders in the pharmacy to hang out with some of the village kids who were excited to see the brigaders.
  • GMB's mission is "to provide sustained healthcare relief to underserved communities throughout the world"
  • Spring USC brigaders traveled March 2008
  • Gathered medicine for trip - thank you to all who donated funds and medicine!
  • Traveled to rural areas around San Pedro Sula and Tegucigulpa, Honduras setting up "brigades" (temporary health clinics) where people could come and receive medical treatment free of charge
  • Spent most of my time working triage (to find out the symptoms of each patient) and pharmacy (filling doctor's orders and explaining to patients what their medications were for and when/how to take them) during brigades
  • Collaborated with Sociedad Amigos de los Niņos, whose mission is "to provide a nurturing environment for the neglected and impoverished children of Honduras, taking care of their basic needs and at the same time helping them to grow, achieve and fulfill their dreams."
  • Visited local orphanages and spent time with kids
  • U.S. Executive Director: Kathy Stolarz
  • Feel free to contact me for more information about my experience or how to get involved.
