efficacy of CTG's classroom enrichment program.
-Update/upkeep library of plays and educational resources.
-Updating/confirming ticket reservations, managing donation requests, researching
contacts for celebrity guests and specific demographic/sub-culture audiences,
contacting misc. vendors for publicity events, setting up/running events and
opening nights.
-Based in the Ocean Park Community Center, 8 mentors and 20 high school students
explore personal reflections of sexual and dating violence, disempowerment, gender,
as well as meditation and synergy of aspirations.
-Directing performances and recordings of 4-40 man choir for national competitions
-Teaching Beta's canon of songs to each incoming pledge class of 15-25 men
-Tutoring groups of 2-6 students in reading, math, and science; grades K-10.
-Managing contact files, test scores, evaluations, supply ordering
-Programming general meetings and cultural celebrations during Filipino American History
Month.
-Organizing biweekly service events at local Filipino American organizations,
such as Search to Involve Pilipino Americans and Filipino American Library.
-90 minute weekly lesson, including brief interactive presentation,
and theatrical games (role-playing, mask making, short scenes,
and storytelling competitions)
-leading ensemble of 39 to perform short, children's story with 5 dance numbers,
designing and constructing costumes and light
-fundraising for Troy Camp, after-school mentoring program for inner city youth
-led 100 Asian/Pacific American local highschool students through workshops on
college applications and forums on college life
-imparted tips on resume building via personal experience stories
-built rapport with local high schools to promote/expand their club/service opportunities
-Conference on personal development and effective communication centered on Stephen
Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
-One week of backpacking hosted by National Outdoor Leadership School.
-Curriculum of survival skills and personal awareness mixed with
re-engaging Beta's core fraternal values.
-Conference for all IFC fraternities. Candid discussions and team-building activities
about developing state and national inter-fraternal events and communication network.
