HISTORY
In the 2005 Spring semester at the University of Southern California (USC), Lillian Razavi and Racquel Smith met in their Organizational Behavior course (BUAD-304). Throughout the semester, the two became close friends.
During the following semester (Fall 2005), Razavi approached Smith with the idea that is now Future Women CEO Network (FWCN). Come to find out, they were thinking of similar ideas the entire time. The two worked long and hard to make the vision of the organization come to past. Jennifer Hong and Hazel Lebiga were brought on to join the board. The four women are the original board members and were there to kick-off this wonderful organization in the 2006 Spring semester.
The original idea came about because there was a void of campus organizations that focused on women’s opportunities in Corporate America. FWCN was to be non-discriminatory and accepting to all who wanted to be a part of the organization. This idea is still held to be true for FWCN.
The next steps for FWCN is to make it an official non-profit organization for all women in the Southern California region.
