Introduction

From June 19th to July 19th, 2004, Bob Mazelow and Kathleen Sears took a group of thirteen Lakeside students to India. The trip took a tour of the Spiti Valley and the Himalchal Pradesh area. The following is a chronicle of the month from my point of view.

During the trip, I kept a physical journal consisting of jotted notes. The following is a transcription of the content of these notes, after having been significantly fleshed out.

This travelog is tied directly to Freddie's Crappy Journal . Also, comments on this journal should be directed to the Blogger entry comment form linking to this. This is the first half of the journal. The second half is still being worked on.

Use the links to the left to navigate to that section, and the links at the bottom of the section pages to advance along.

The point of this website is purely selfish - I hate talking to all you oafs, so I made this so I can just give you a website link when you ask me that vague nonspecific "How was the trip," and expect me to answer concisely (I kid, I kid). In all seriousness, this travelog serves several purposes. Among them, I intend it to be simply something for myself to look back on and remember while the details are still fresh. Additionally, I intend it to be at least somewhat interesting to the rest of the group members, as simply another point-of-view of a shared experience. And hopefully, everybody else reading this will be able to get something out of this as well, be it a brief and hopefully interesting diversion, or perhaps something a bit more meaningful.

In any case, click on the links to the left to access the pages. If you are interested in a physical print of any particular picture, let me know via email and we'll arrange something.

Thanks to Josha for additional photography and proofreading.

Finally, please ask my permission before taking photos for use on your own websites. I spent real money at Costco to get this stuff developed, and I expect some respect from you hooligans.

Enjoy.

Notes- As a point of reference, the Spiti Valley is in the northeastern portion of India, 45 rupees are approximately equalivant to 1 U.S. Dollar, etc.
