Engineering World Health

for a brighter future.

Imagine living in a place where newborns have one of the highest mortality rates in the world, where poverty is rampant, and where per capita income barely covers the necessities of life. A place where power supplies may be unreliable and a simple blown fuse can affect life-saving surgical procedures. Sadly, these places exist all over the globe.

The USC chapter of Engineering World Health (EWH@USC) has been created to answer the needs of disadvantaged areas through providing and maintaining appropriate medical technology by:

- DESIGNING new medical devices

- BUILDING medical technology from standardized kits

- REPAIRING and DELIVERING donated medical equipment

- INSTALLING medical equipment in hospitals

- FOSTERING communication within biomedical communities

Get involved and be a part of a growing community of students, faculty, and staff that want to improve the healthcare resources and equipment for disadvantaged communities.
