Eric Tsay is a Master's Student in the GIST program at the University of Southern California (USC). He was recently a cataloger of art auction materials for
the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles (2010-2012) working as a work-study intern. He is a class of 2012 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
with a double degree in Geography and Sociology and a minor in Urban and Regional Planning. He has conducted undergraduate research in both GIS and planning on the topics
of suitability analysis for housing development, demography, and international governance.
He was a participant in the UCLA 2011 urban planning travel study program in Geneva, Switzerland.
He is a finalist and award recipient in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2010 design competition in Orange County, California. Eric conducted GIS research on the access and
flow analysis of evacuation sites at the USC Wrigley campus using network analyst. He presented his findings at the LA County Department of Public Works GIS Day 2012.
Eric is interested in GIS and its applications as a tool for urban planning, public policy and development. He is beginning his third semester in the program and expects to graduate in
