about me

My name is Emily Kathryn Roellke.  I am currently a freshman at USC.  I'm undeclared, but I plan on declaring as a General Studies major in the Rossier School of Education next spring.  I haven't decided on a career path yet- I might pursue teaching, or possibly a career in postsecondary administration.

I was born and raised in Fresno, California, and lived there my entire life before moving to L.A. for college.  I have one sister, Rachel, who graduated from USC in 2003 with a degree in English/Creative Writing.  She currently lives at home in Fresno with my mom, Mary, and my dad, Rob.  My dad is an elementary school teacher and my mom is in nursing school. We have one neurotic poodle named Spencer.

My favorite hobby is singing.  In high school, I participated in theater and was in a few musicals.  Now, I'm in an a cappella singing group (that means we make music using only our voices- drums and all!) called Reverse Osmosis.  I'm also a member of a co-ed community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega.  We do lots of fun projects locally like Habitat for Humanity and meal service for the homeless (the picture of me in the rain slicker is at the AIDS Walk Los Angeles!).
