The USC Equestrian Team is dedicated to achieving the highest standards in traditional equitation as well as leadership and responsibility. Our mission is to provide opportunities for students from all backgrounds to participate in riding competitions and training throughout their college experience.

The team rides out of Sunset Equine Farms in Shadow Hills, CA. Read more about our coach, Kathryn Burdett-Griffiths, here.

There are approximately 25 members on the team. While everyone has different levels of experience, we are defined by our love of horses, our passion for riding, and our dedication to the team.

We compete in Zone 8 Region 2 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. The competition format consists of catch-riding, which allows us to focus on developing ourselves as well-rounded equestrians. Competitions consist of a variety of divisions for different experience levels, ranging from Walk/Trot to Open (Medal/Maclay). Some of the schools we compete against are ASU, University of Arizona, Claremont, Cal Poly Pomona, UCSD, USD, UCLA, Pepperdine, Whittier, and more!
