  Learning from nature

After more than five years of planning and several enviromental reviews, the Whitter Narrows Nature Center now has the money and the permits it needs to start construction. The revitalized center will more than quadruple in size, replacing the current 2,000-square-foot center with a 19,000-square-foot facility which will include a 150-seat conference center, an outdoor classroom and more environmental exhibits. All these updates are geared to improve the center's role as an environmental-education facility.
