Having a challenging situation in college?  Do you feel that something needs to be changed or improved? Or just need to know or say something and don't know where to go?

I am Irfan Fazal, PhD student in Electrical Engineering. My research is focused on all optical signal processing. It gives me a lot of pleasure to serve as the EGSL for the year of 2007. I have been involved in various on-campus student organizations like Graduate and Professional Students Senate (GPSS communications chair), Engineering Graduate Student Association (EGSA - EE Senator) and Office of Residential Education (Resident Adviser - Graduate Housing) which has helped me better understand the needs of graduate students.

I hope to serve as your resource if you are facing challenges with faculty, administration or any other concerns. My goal for this year would be to strengthen the ties between students and administration and work on common areas of interest.
