Philly Bike Report is a web and soon-to-be mobile GIS application for reporting encountered circumstances that hampered the ability to safely and efficiently travel by bicycle in the City of Philadelphia. Once the project is complete, users will be able to report information and photographic evidence of several types of incidents, including: blocked bike lanes, full bike racks, empty or full Indego Bike Share stations, poor surface conditions, collisions with motor vehicles, unplowed bike lanes, bike thefts, and verbal or physical aggression by people driving motor vehicles.
Project Recharge was a collaborative final project for USC GIST's SSCI 587: Spatial Data Acquisition. The focus was to identify potential groundwater recharge sites on Santa Catalina Island.
This project centered on creation of custom cycle routing model, built using ArcMap's Network Analyst toolset within Model Builder. The model allows users to specify their start and stop points and then generates a route that favors using bike lanes over roadways without bike lanes. Users can also choose to avoid collision hot spots.
This study proposes a geodatabase design which describes and illustrates the geospatial phenomena of dredging in the Detroit River, prototypes this design using ESRI ArcGIS v10.3, and demonstrates the working database via spatial and aspatial queries. This study complements the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Framework (GLAHF) initiative, designed as a base structure around which virtually any marine- or riverine-related database could be built. This project is in direct support of a University of Michigan (UM) project in partnership with the Institute for Fisheries Research (IFR) which is focused on understanding trends and future needs with respect to dredging in the GL region.
