Hi! I'm Shobha and am from Bangalore, India. I currently live in LA, California and am a Graduate Student at the University of Southern California, majoring in Computer Science. When I'm not busy coding and developing, you can find me either hooked onto a book, finding new places to explore, new stuff to eat or contemplating life in general!

I love traveling as much as I love a lazy day at home. Thanks to my travels and craze for sharing photos on social media, I discovered (like almost everyone else out there) that I loved photography. My Nikon D3200 is now a constant companion on all my outings. You can find a few captures taken on this companion of mine in this page (You can also view my 365project for the year 2017 here). There are a lot more places to be ticked off on my bucket list, but one place at a time!

Thanks to my stay in LA and the eventual craving for homemade Indian food, I have recently discovered that I enjoy cooking. Find it quite therapeutic even. A typical day in my life revolves around planning what to cook and then hog it down! Now that I have mentioned a day in my life, it actually starts off with a run. Another activity that I have discovered to enjoy. I try to make it a point to complete the 10K steps on my Fitbit (it is so hard, but got to try!), most of which comes out of the morning run I go on with a pal of mine.

Oh and did I mention that I love reading. Who doesn't?! I'll read anything from the back of a cereal box to Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. That's how restless my brain gets. One of my favorite writers is Thomas Hardy. I was introduced to him in High School by one of the best Librarians, and fell in love with his "Tess of d'Urbervilles". A tragic story of the heroine, this book touches my heart every time I read it, especially the end when you can even find me sobbing. It is my favorite book of all time. Thomas Hardy led me to Charles Dickens, Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde. Watching the Jason Bourne movies led me to Robert Ludlum and then Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mario Puzo and Dan Brown. And let's not forget humor - of which I love Mark Twain's works. An assortment of genres - that's how I like it.

Well this must have given you a faint idea of the kind of person I am. If you are a recruiter who wants to get in touch and know more about me, drop me a mail! If you are not, then still do. Or connect with me on Facebook!

Thank you and have a great day!!
