The Downey Unified School District is located approximately thirteen miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Its current enrollment is 22,500 divided among thirteen elementary, four middle and three high schools.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Downey Unified School District is to provide the highest quality education in a safe, trusting environment; to utilize the resources of the home, school, and community; and to maximize the achievement of all students. The District provides a comprehensive curriculum, based on rigorous academic standards, that is responsive to the strengths and needs of our students.
