Finally! Season 4 Starts...
Los Angeles I can’t express how excited I was to see the start of Season 4 for Project Runway. I was ready for the next Chloe, the next Santino, the next Jeff…you get the idea.
But for all the viewers out there, Season 4 was the beginning of the drama packed into each show--exhibiting all the personality traits viewers love to zone in on to see who they love and who they hate. And for those more fashion conscience—the season was the chance to see the fashion aspirations of the contestants.
All the contestants had a short time to get acquainted before heading off for champagne and their first challenge—to design an outfit that represented who they were as a designer.
Rami won the first challenge with his gray draped dress. Very chic design without the flower and a good indication that this man has an eye for beauty. Another favorite was Chris’s deep green and purple dress that beautifully wrapped around his model’s neck.
The person I already hate is Christian. Although he had a creative design with his plaid jacket, he doesn’t seem to take constructive criticism very well. He certainly thought Tim Gunn’s advice during the first episode was worth his while.
My favorite contestant so far is Elisa because she is from my hometown of El Paso, Texas. Yes, I am biased, but I do have to say she is a bit weird. All her “organic” treatments to her clothes are unusual. Her blue dress was very simple and the printed cloth coming out the back just looked awful.
Carmen, the former model, is very creative so we will see what she can come up with next. Jillian likes bold colors and Kit adds a rock flare to her clothes. Jack is completely hot, but I hate the print he used for his first dress. Either way, he is hot. Steve seems like the quite type and his clothes are also that way. A black jacket and black shirt?
Ricky is the emotional one and already questioning if he is good enough for this competition. Sweet “P” seems like a tough woman, but her clothes dictate the softer side of her. Victorya is definitely an overachiever, but I loved her black dress. Marion and Kevin need to make their designs more sophisticated. As for Simone, who got cut during the first episode, she just ran out of time.
Let’s see who gets cut next!
