David Byun is a Master’s student in the GIST program at USC. He
studied Logistics and Intermodal Transportation at the U.S. Merchant
Marine Academy and graduated in 2003. He served in the U.S. Navy as a
Student Naval Flight Officer and was stationed at Pensacola, FL for 2
years. He then worked for J.B. Hunt Transport as an Operations
Supervisor/Warehouse Supervisor for 2 years at South Gate, CA.
Thereafter, he worked as an Assistant Lab Technician for the Marine
Science Department at Orange Coast College at Costa Mesa, CA while
attending school there for 2 ½ years. David has completed 4 classes
toward his degree and expects to graduate in 2013. He is interested in
applying his GIS education to environmental causes and renewable
energies in Southern California.
