USC Students thrilled at list of confirmed retailers for Trojan Playground.

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 13, 2007 – Trojan Playground Inc., a retail investment company, released a statement on Thursday that the grand opening of their first entertainment center is scheduled for August 3, 2007.  Trojan Playground is located at the corner of Figueroa and Jefferson and will be geared to meet the needs of students at the University of Southern California.  Over 20 major retail stores and restaurants have been confirmed to open within walking distance of student dorms and apartment complexes.

David Jacobs, General Manager of Trojan Playground Inc., stated, “This has been a project a long time in the making and we’re so glad to see that it has finally become a reality.  I think that everyone can benefit from this – USC students, the surrounding community and the local economy.”

Students report they are very happy to have the new stores opening so close to USC.  A small market survey revealed that students overwhelmingly wanted healthy food, entertainment options, and a fun nightlife close to their school.  Rebecca Hubberts, a Junior Business major, said, “It will be so great to have healthy restaurants and good shopping within a close proximity.  I can’t wait to not have to drive all the way to Westwood anymore.”

Confirmed businesses include The Cheesecake Factory, Coffee Bean, PF Changs, 21 Choices, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Urban Outfitters, among many others.  In addition, a sports bar, hookah bar, and dance club will be opening within the entertainment center to promote the nightlife around USC.

The grand opening is scheduled consist of a month-long celebration of the complex’s opening.  Stores and restaurants will be offering special deals and discounts throughout each weekend in August. “We want to grab student’s attention, and nothing grabs it better than the words ‘free’ and ‘discount,’” says Jacobs.

Trojan Playground is a redevelopment investment company aiming to improve the area surrounding USC.  This is Trojan Playgrounds first retail location and focuses on the development of businesses to meet certain niche market needs.  Trojan Playground also supports new business owners and recent USC graduates by offering reduced rent to ensure success.
