Right
from the moment airplanes were invented by Wright Brothers,
air industry is one the fastest growing market. In the 21st
century, technology has made it easier for the customer to
just reach the airport on time and everything’s automated
from there, even to the extent of getting the ticket from
the information desk. There is automation involved in every
stage right from the moment the customer enters the airport
to the moment he ties his/her seat-belt before the flight
takes-off. What actually goes behind this complex system
and how is it managed? The goal of our project is to make
the life of these individuals working behind this system
a lot easier by implementing a layer over these systems that
would integrate all the functionalities.
This
system has been designed keeping in mind the airport officials
and the so-called “administrators” of the air traffic controller
system. Some of the primary features that our system design
involves are managing and controlling the display system
for the entire airport, full schedule maintenance of the
flights, staff information, ground service system and apron
systems, a control administration system for air traffic
along with a report generation system. Since the end-users
are the people who administer, monitor and maintain almost
the entire airport, a major capability of adding, deleting
and updating this information needs to be provided to them
via a secure-login system. A just-in time completion of tasks
all around-the-clock marks a successful day for the people
controlling the airport.
