PDAs
will be distributed in Disneyland to be used by the people
that go there. People will use this PDA to view all the rides
available, with a preview and/or description of each ride.
They will also be able to view the next available time for
this ride and to schedule and reserve places for this ride
too. So theoretically all PDAs in Disneyland are connected
through a wireless connection to a database which has all
the reservations data and the available times. So when a
persons reserves to go through ride X at 5pm, one vacancy
will be available to that person and deducted from ride X’s
free seats at 5pm. This would help by saving people the time
they used to spend waiting in line to get a turn for rides,
and would help the managers of Disneyland because people
instead of waiting would roam around the place and maybe
eat or shop somewhere.
Moreover,
this PDA will have a locator program that will help the people
to move from one destination (ride, restaurant, shop) to
the other. Something similar to map quest but inside Disneyland
only.
Also, people will be able to view on the PDA the upcoming
available events (such as parades) with some previews on
those events (such as a small clip of last year’s parade).
All
those features need to be implemented in a user friendly
interface with a very creative and colorful GUI that would
make it easy for the parents to use and at the same time
grasp the children’s attention.
