Course Projects CSCI-588: Specification and Design of User Interface Software Fall 2004 Team 20: Home Inventory Manager (HI Manager) Team Member 1) Roshni Ravi 2) Suraj Pai 3) Sandeep Kamath The idea is to create a refrigerator inventory management system by having a user interface (a touch screen and a voice interface perhaps) on a refrigerator that keeps track of the items in the refrigerator. This embedded computer system will have basic capabilities such as adding, deleting and updating items in the refrigerator. The system will also be able to communicate with existing inventory management software systems of departmental stores (maybe with a few minor modifications) and place orders. These items can then be home-delivered. This project could accommodate many more functions such as keeping track of the calorie intake of a person or a household over a particular period of time, suggesting individual diet plans (for example, a person with diabetes may have to stick to a low sugar diet), suggesting new items based on an individual’s or a household’s eating habits/preferences, advertising new products and departmental stores etc.
