[11/22/06 CMB] FAQ: Running xspim over a remote connection
- If you are using x-win32:
- Go to XConfig --> "Security" tab.
- Add aludra.usc.edu to the X-Host list.
- Check the "Access Control" box.
If you are connecting from a UNIX shell, just type
> xhost + aludra.usc.edu
- Once you are logged in to aludra, type
> setenv DISPLAY your_computer_ip:0.0
Now you should be able to run xspim, or any graphical application.
- If you don't know your computer IP (on a PC), you can find it by running "ipconfig /all"
from
the command prompt, or through "Control Panel ->
Network Connections -> your connection ->
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Properties"
