Class Web Server
Under Construction

A copy of the Apache Web server has been placed in the class account for student use. Students may test their web documents and scripts from the class server if they perform the following steps:
  1. create a directory "public_html" in your user account (you should already have this directory for your scf web page)
    1. this directory should be given world read and execute permissions (chmod 755)
    2. this directory will be your document root, all html documents should be placed here (or in a lower directory)
    3. this directory can be accessed with the following url:

    4. http://nunki.usc.edu:8088/~username/
  2. create a directory below your "public_html" directory named "cgi-bin"
    1. this directory should also be given read and execute permission
    2. this directory will be your personal cgi-bin directory
    3. this directory can be used to test your perl scripts (.pl)
    4. don't forget to give read and execute permissions for all scripts you want to test
    5. this directory can be accessed with the following url:

    6. http://nunki.usc.edu:8088/~username/cgi-bin
(try to download some of the
sample scripts linked to above to test your configuration)
