We are Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honor Society. Currently, there are 129 chapters at major engineering universities throughout the United States.
We have a very colorful History.........to be fulfilled
Our headquarters is currently located on the campus of the University of
Texas at Arlington. The Headquarters office is staffed by Dr. Thomas M. Petry, the National Secretary-Treasurer, assisted by Susan Brown.
The government of Chi Epsilon is administered through delegations of student members acting through the National Council. Delegates and the Council meet in conclave on a biennium basis, always on even-numbered years, to invoke the rules of governance for the biennium. Day-to-day operations are then administered by the Secretary-Treasurer, at the pleasure of the National Council. The National Conclave is always hosted by a member school. The most recent conclave was held at the University of Missouri-Rolla March 9-11, 2006. The next conclave will be hosted by the Stevens Institute of Technology Chapter March 20-22, 2008.
There are ten District Councillors, each representing a geographic district of the US. These are: New England District, Metropolitan District, Cumberland District, Southern District, Great Lakes District, North Central District, Central District, Southwest District, Rocky Mountain District, and the Pacific District.
