Week of September 16: Patents Search
Due date: Your lab date plus one week
Using the on-line databases for U.S. patents, students will search for patents related to HIV/drugs.
We will use two alternative databases, USPTO and Esp@cenet. These servers give access to U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) patent descriptions. You can search, retrieve and study over two million patents.
Overview
In searching for specific patent information, we need access to the bibliographic data, text, drawings, and claims of patents issued by the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). The ideal server supports simple keyword, phrase, and patent number searches and provides the complete scanned image of a patent.
