Chenny Gan was born in 1981 in the city of Nanning in Guangxi Province, China, and immigrated to the United States in 1989. She graduated from Wesleyan College (Macon, GA) in 2002 on a full scholarship, earning double degrees in Music and Studio Art. She then completed two Masters Degrees in Music at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro—one in Piano Performance and the other in Piano Accompanying. Currently she is pursuing her doctoral degree in Piano at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

As a pianist, Chenny strives to explore new territories in all areas of her performing. She loves to collaborate with other musicians in various styles and genres of music. Her past and present experiences include active teaching in China, Germany, and the U.S., five solo appearances with orchestra, collaborating with jazz musicians and bands, and releasing three self-produced CDs (her second album was featured on Georgia Public Radio for its integration of oil paintings inspired by solo piano repertoire).

Ms. Gan has performed in China, Canada, Austria, Germany, and the United States. For her myriad accomplishments, Ms. Gan’s biography may be found in the 2006 Edition of Who’s Who in America as well as the 2007 Edition of Who’s Who in the World. She speaks fluent English and Mandarin, and has recently begun a quest to acquire proficiency in German. Besides music and languages, Chenny is interested and involved in painting, swimming, philosophy, and world cultures.
