Our first review in the home gadget section goes out to the poor guy. The Toshiba
15DLV76 won’t win any contests for picture quality or abundance
of features, and the fact that its flat-screen serves for nothing
more than saving space doesn't help its case either. But, if you are
short on bucks and you live in a closet-sized space like a college
dorm, this TV is clutch. You can at least brag to your friends that
you have a DVD playing flat-screen in your room. They’ll never
know the reality of it is much less impressive. Let's check out the
Vital Stats:
This 15" flat panel LCD/ DVD combo is perfect for students in dorm rooms and small apartments living on a budget. Going for less this $400 this LCD is pretty much a steal when consider it has a DVD player onboard. Its small size is an asset when space is a precious commodity. Nomadic students will appreciate the TV's 12.8 pound frame that will help ease the agony of end-of-the-year moving. The set doesn't offer much in the way features, but fot the price you can't really complain.
Big Money Telly--The Sony KDS-R60XBR1
A word of caution before we begin: the typical student has absolutely
no reason to by nor will they be able to afford a TV of this caliber
but, it is my journalist responsibility to show you how the other
half lives. The R60’s 60” screen produces one of the
crispest and most clear pictures I’ve ever seen on an HD TV.
The resolution achieves a full 1080p resolve (the highest resolution
that can be achieved, which is rare and very gorgeous). The design
is very sleek the speakers shown in the picture can be detached
adding to its attractiveness. Some of the features the TV offer,
and there are many, include two HD ports, PC inputs, and plethora
of picture correcting options. For those not into tech-talk, this
TV has a picture quality that rivals movie theaters and if you have
about six grand to blow, this TV may be for you.
This the televison crème de la récolte, and a natural editior's
choice. But, it is definately reserved with those who have cash
to burn. For the rest of us, our best bet is to got Best Buy and
hope they're demo-ing a movie you'd like to see.
