I won many fellowships and
scholarships during my study at USC: Doctoral
Fellowship, NSF Fellowship, University
Research Fellowship, EERI Award, Teaching
Scholarship, Research Scholarship, APSIH
Special Award, etc.
I have been
the lab instructor and TA of many
undergraduate and graduate courses at USC. I
instructed labs for Mechanics of Materials,
Computer Software, Physics for Architects as
well as Mechanics and Thermodynamics, and
was a TA for CE 205, CE 207, CE 334, CE 507
and CE 537.
I was the lead TA for the
department of Physics and Astronomy to train
teaching assistants for their labs, and to
supervise them. I hold this position for two
consecutive years (2013-14).
I am also a technical
reviewer for 6 journals, and frequently
evaluate the submitted papers to these
I am a
triathlete, and an advanced yoga
practitioner who can never leave an
interesting philosophical or psychological
article unread, or an inspiring TED video
unwatched. I am also interested in piano,
reading newspapers (Wall Street Journal),
magazines (Psychology Today, Money and
Entrepreneur) and books as well as attending
music, cultural and sporting events.
My personal records
include: Running a half marathon in 1 hour and
58 minutes at USC track and field; Biking 25
miles at Cyclavia;
and swimming 4 kilometers in 92 minutes at USC
Olympic swim stadium.
