Austin Davis

Austin Davis is a Master’s Student in the GIST Program at the University of Southern California. He currently serves as a Research Geographer for the United States Army Engineer Research Development Center, a premier military R&D agency. His time is split between field data collection and analysis with the purpose of using experimental spectroscopy to defeat Improvised Explosive Devices, and the Geospatial Data Analysis Facility’s GIS Team where he is tasked with complex geoscripting, spatial data analysis, and geospatial application development and deployment. As a DoD SMART Scholar, Austin received his B.S. in Geosciences from Mississippi State University and his Certificate of Geospatial Information Systems and Remote Sensing from the Mississippi State University Geo-Resources Institute. In his spare time, he actively promotes geographic literacy in Mississippi public schools.
