Down Syndrome Association of LA Buddy Walk
ATPS will be volunteering at the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles Buddy Walk on November 15th at the Santa Anita Race Track. The walk runs from 11am to 4pm, and we will be helping with registration, passing out water, and other tasks. We do not have specifics (time we will meet, amount of time we will be there etc.) yet, but will pass them a long as soon as we know.
The DSALA is a non-profit organization that helps individuals with Down Syndrome. Over 10.5 million dollars were raised last year. The money goes into helping with education, improving resources, and research. John C. McGinley, one of the actors from Scrubs is the Buddy Walk Spokesperson. At the event, we will be helping with the different game and crafts booths at the event as well as helping with sign ups.

Union Rescue Mission
We've got a great community service opportunity coming up on Sunday, November 1st. A group of us will be going to the Union Rescue Mission (www.urm.org) on skid row to help serve lunch from 10am to 3pm.
The Union Rescue Mission serves over 735,909 meals annually, and also provides beds, education, and job training for over 600 people daily. Come on out to see the realities of life on skid row and to help the Union Rescue Mission make a difference!
We will be meeting at 9:35am at the Finger Fountain to catch the DASH bus together.

ATPS BAGEL BREAK
As we approach the halfway mark in the semester, take a break from midterms with ATPS!
On Wednesday, Oct. 21st from 10 am to 12 pm, we will be having a bagel break at the Alumni Park, which is located between Doheny Library and Trousdale.
We will be providing FREE bagels to everyone who come, so all you have to do is come out, have some conversation with your fellow ATPS members and just relax.
