Mission Statement

The purpose of ASCA is to explore and promote career and academic issues related to the field of Communication. The organization serves as a voice to the faculty and administration of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. The students participate in and host various activities throughout the academic year and share their ideas and concerns with fellow Communication students on how to better improve the organization and the university as a whole. ASCA cultivates networking opportunities academically, professionally, and socially.

ASCA stands for the Annenberg Student Communication Association, the first undergraduate association in the history of the Annenberg School at USC. ASCA was founded in 1995, and continues to be the only undergraduate association representing Communication students. ASCA represents Communication majors at the Annenberg School for Communication and all other students who are interested in the Communication field.

The purpose of ASCA is to best meet the needs of the undergraduate student body interested in the field of Communication. It is dedicated to exploring academic and career issues in all aspects of communication while providing students with opportunities to interact socially with faculty and fellow classmates. Similar to the "Trojan Family" that unifies our University, ASCA focuses on creating a "family" and a sense of community within the Communication department. It is a priority for ASCA to provide students with an enjoyable experience during their years in the Annenberg School. ASCA is also working to build a service oriented relationship with the Communication Department. This entails having members work closely with the Department to provide assistance to the Director and/or Faculty at Communication functions.

Events will be announced on our website as they are planned. All events will be held Monday - Friday 5PM onwards. Volunteer work at events is also available and encouraged. For further volunteer opportunities, please email us.
