Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles by Sara Justin

On Sunday October 15th, the sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon got together. This Engineering Sorority headed to the infamous Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Sounding unappealing, this odd combination actually makes for a good meal. Hanging out, the Candidates for Alpha Omega Epsilon had an opportunity to interview most of the active members. The girls enjoyed this social event, spending most of their time laughing at each other’s stories. At the end of the night, the sisters of AOE were not happy to separate, but looked forward to their next event.

El Cholo by Arwen Wyatt-Mair

We decided it was time for the AΩE’s to get together and drive out for a night of incredibly cheap Mexican food with outrageously large portions. So we gathered a few cars of people and headed out to El Cholo, where entrees are half off on weeknights with a USC student ID card. The evening began with a seemingly endless supply of chips and salsa while we waited to be seated. As usual, we were placed in the far corner of the restaurant, at an odd arrangement of square and circular tables. Though we spent quite a while deciding what to order, most of us ended up ordering the Sonora enchilada (by far the best item on the menu). The food was delicious, and the stories told were…interesting. From lion vests in Vegas to the virtues of guacamole to the hilarity of our ID photos, the conversation was strange and thoroughly entertaining. The ride home featured multiple drivers zoning out and forgetting to turn where they should have, resulting in long detours and much embarrassment, but the event left everyone with a full stomach and plenty of leftovers, making it highly successful by AΩE standards.
